Stump Grinding – Tree Root Removal
Need a stump removed?
Are you tired of mowing around an unsightly tree stump? Tree stumps can be dangerous for yard play either being in the way or a hazard in the pathway of family fun. Tree stumps can also attract numerous insects (like damaging termites) to your yard that will feed off the decaying stump.
We can do that for you quickly and safely. We usually grind stumps 6 to 12 inches below the ground surface and we will remove any visible surface roots.
Stumps are hazardous to people and pets.
Tree stumps should always be removed as quickly as possible whenever a tree is cut down. Leaving a tree stump to decompose naturally is only asking for trouble for you and your pets.
If a tree was diseased when cut down, you want to remove as much of the tree’s organic material as soon as possible from the surrounding soil – especially before planting any new trees or shrubs in the area. Plus, decomposing wood will attract all sorts of unwanted insects into your yard and near your home.
Remaining Tree Stumps Can Regrow
The remaining roots can also be a problem. As they begin to decay air pockets will be created resulting in loose soil spots in the ground. These areas can create holes for humans to step into and fall. In some cases the roots will regenerate and begin to grow again creating the same nuisance as before.
Tree stumps should never be near play areas for children and you will always want to remove the stump and roots before any kind of nearby construction.
Tree Stump Mulch For the Yard
Grinding tree stumps down below the surface of the topsoil allows for effective yard repair and replanting of the area. The mulch created by the grinding process can be recycled by using it on your flower beds to control weeds and maintain soil moisture. It’s a win, win!
